Labor Day Weekend, One year check-up, Swing Set

This is going to be one GIANT catch-up post!  Things around here have been non-stop since Wyatt’s Birthday.

Labor Day weekend the big fair was in town and we headed over to it Friday afternoon.  The weather was BEAUTIFUL and it was such a fun family outing!  The fair had two different petting zoos, lots of rides, tons of carnival food (corn dogs, funnel cakes, and cheese steaks galore), McGruff (the Sherriff’s Deputy Dog), monkey’s riding dogs, motorcycle tricks, and much more!  Wyatt was in awe of all of the things going on around us.  I can’t wait to take him back year after year!

September 4 we had Wyatt’s One Year check-up.  He checked out perfectly!  Right on target for height and weight, still in the 75th percentile.

Here is a breakdown of his growth over the first year of his life –

  • 2 Weeks    –           8lbs 12oz                       21 Inches
  • 2 Months –            12lbs 13oz                    24 Inches
  • 4 Months –            16lbs 13oz                    25.25 Inches
  • 6 Months –           20lbs 12oz                     26.5 Inches
  • 9 Months –           22lbs 5oz                        29.5 Inches
  • One Year –            24lbs 2oz                       31.5 Inches

Last week we ran lots of errands, cleaned house a little, went to Kindermusik, and played!

I do have great news – Wyatt is going on THREE WEEKS of no gagging while eating!!  My little guy now eats 3 meals a day, and 2-3 snacks a day.  He is such a good eater, lots of fruits and veggies, and hasn’t found a food he doesn’t like!  I knew he would figure out the eating thing when he was ready, now he is trying to catch up on all the time he missed out!

Last Thursday we FINALLY got Wyatt’s swing set delivered.  My grandparents – Grandma and PapPap had ordered it for Wyatt’s birthday.  It was supposed to be here the week before Wyatt’s Birthday, but there was some confusion at the store and we had to re-order and it was delivered to the house instead.  Thursday night Paul and I started the assembly process.

Day 1

We resumed building Friday morning with some help from our friend Josh.  He was able to help for about 2 hours, and then it was back to just Paul and I.

Day 2

Notice Wyatt’s BIG smile sitting at the top of the slide!  He was soo Happy!!  While Paul and I built the swing set Wyatt played in the yard on a blanket.  He was such a cooperative, sweet boy!

Finished Product

Thank you Grandma and PapPap for such an INCREDIBLE Birthday Gift!

That’s what we have been up too for the past couple of weeks – Now you are all caught up!!
