Mr. Happy

I love to read.  For as long as I can remember I have loved to read.  I vividly remember going to the library in the summer to check-out books, reading them all, and then going back to get more!  (That really makes me sound like a nerd – doesn’t it?)

Some of my favorite books growing up were a collection called “Mr. Men and Little Miss” .  The books consisted of a primary shaped (typically square or circle) character with a “BIG” personality.  Some of the personalities are; Little Miss Bossy, Mr. Grumpy, Mr. Tickle, Little Miss Sunshine, Mr. Chatterbox, Mr. Messy, Mr. Greedy and Mr. Happy.  They are quick stories about those personalities.  The books were written in the 70s, but still are very relevant today. 

At some point I acquired a Mr. Happy shirt.  This shirt got passed to my sister, and then my brother.  When I found out I was pregnant I searched my Dad’s house for the Mr. Happy shirt.  I couldn’t find it, so I searched online, and couldn’t find one.  I gave up on the shirt, and turned my attention to finding some of the books.  Well, I hit another dead-end.  I went to a couple of retailers and they looked at me like I was CRAZY!  Then one afternoon, towards the end of my pregnancy, a box arrived from my sister.  It contained a collection of the Mr. and Little Miss books!  I was psyched!!

The day after Wyatt was born my Dad and Ilene showed up at the hospital, and brought a gift for Wyatt.  In the box was this…

Wyatt's Mr Happy Shirt

I was over the moon excited!!  Since my Dad couldn’t find a Mr. Happy shirt, he made one for Wyatt!!  He also made him a Mr. Grumpy and Mr. Lazy shirt!  It made me smile.

Last week I decided it was time for Wyatt to wear his Mr. Happy shirt.  Here are some of the best shots.
